Found this handy collection of Quick Reference Cards through google (what else?). I already have the ViM quick reference card printed and adorning my cubicle in work. There are some very nice goodies here

Wednesday, January 7th, 2004It’s true.
If you have the DVD you’ll see me quiet clearly no less than four times, at these timestamps:
- 8:13
- 22:23
- 31:30
- 1:18:18
Wohoo!
IRMA, justify this.
Monday, December 8th, 2003The URL to this scanned flyer was posted on irc.linux.ie, demonstrating the differences in price between HMV and two of the online CD stores cdwow.ie and play.com.
It also recommends Irish consumers voice their complaints at the IRMA (Irish Recorded Music Association) website.
I know I will.
Driving Safely etc
Thursday, November 27th, 2003Heard yesterday, off The Full Irish on 2FM, that it is now required by law in the Netherlands that you always drive with your headlights on, daylight or night-time.
Alledgely statistics show that less accidents to those travelling with headlights on during the daytime.
Track your notes
Thursday, November 27th, 2003Discovered the Euro Bill Tracker website (via the Cork Linux Users Group).
It’s an interesting idea, to be able to see where the euro notes you had have gotten to
Kildare ISPCA need urgent help
Thursday, November 13th, 2003There are some 120 cats and dogs that urgently need new homes – they are costing €40,000 to keep per year by the Kildare ISPCA. Can you help find a home for them?
Zaurus Links
Saturday, August 16th, 2003Political Correctness? No, it’s a health issue.
Tuesday, August 12th, 2003Very saddened (read irritated) this morning when I heard that our Minister of the Environment disagrees with the intended blanket ban on smoking.
That he disagrees with it is his own personal business. However, I feel he should be towing the line with his colleague the Minister of Health and rethink his wording that the ban related to “political correctness”.
The ban is born not for a desire of political correctness, but to protect peoples well-being and health.
Cullen ought to be forced to work in an environment where all those around him smoke solidly for at least a fortnight and then asked if his opinion has changed.
Argos no longer stocking Sharp Zaurus
Saturday, August 9th, 2003Went into Argos today to get a copy of the new catalogue and to splash out on a Sharp Zaurus.
Plenty of new catalogues – but no Zaurus. No longer stocked.

Tuesday, April 29th, 2003This is the road…
Thursday, April 17th, 2003Drove out to Derrymore Strand and way way on out to the Seven after work with Rachel. Very picturesque.
On the road
Monday, April 7th, 2003Had a nice round trip drive of 250 miles this weekend – down to Birr, where we stayed for Saturday night then across to Cloughjordan yesterday to drop in on my parents for an hour or so and then back down to Tralee.
The car’s so smooth it’s unbelievable.
Feels a bit odd to drive into …
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2003Feels a bit odd to drive into work rather than walk. Now takes 7 minutes to get there as opposed to the 25 minutes we had to allow for.
Looks like some of the linux.ie website might be changed to make the In Industry notes more accessible.
Microsoft don’t suprise me any more
Friday, March 28th, 2003Mircosoft are showing their true colours again, this time refusing to make a fix for a Denial of Service attack available for NT4 (Flaw in RPC Endpoint Mapper Could Allow Denial of Service Attacks). In essence, they say it is too difficult to write a code-fix or service pack for NT4.
Repeat after me:
“Thank God this can’t happen in Open Source systems.”
Et tu O2?
Thursday, March 27th, 2003Something almost funny occured today…
a bill from O2 arrived with a required payment date of 28th March: tomorrow! Anyways I rang customer support to ask them to note I wouldn’t be able to pay on time (payment takes time to clear etc) and the lady in O2 customer support kept asking if I had a land-line number as there was too bad a connection for her to hear me clearly – with me ringing from an O2 phone.
Laugh? I almost hurt myself.

Vroom Vroom!
Monday, March 24th, 2003After taking the plunge, biting the bullet:
paid down a deposit on a lovely Saxo today during lunch after taking it on a test drive.
Lovely (and Rachel, my sweetheart, is over the moon about it).
