Very suprised/please to notice a full page feature on The Village which is based in Cloughjordan, where I hail from, on page fifteen of today’s Metro. All in all, it’s going to be very good for the local economy and the community as a whole.

What a surprise to find so much info. I was born in the village and in spite of living in England for 52 years I have great feelings of homesickness for my home. I am in touch with a fair number of families and friends there. My sister-in-law lives in the homestead. On my last visit in Aug ’05 I was taken on a sight-seeing tour of the village and outskirts to see the many changes, new homes being built and already built. I am happy to know the village is growing in so many ways. I will continue to read the ongoing news etc. I read of the many people interested in moving from cities to give their children a decent lifestyle. I found the lines ‘On the plains of Tipperary the stranger is like a King” coming to mind and hoping the new families will experience this great welcome. Just as important is that the new people integrate with their new neighbours. I wish I could be a part of all this new Cloughjordan. Alas it is too late for me to return except for visits.
