Just gotta applaud the Mozilla development guys – for the past while Mozilla can, if you tell it to, resize images on the fly so they fit the available view space.
You’ll need to do this:
Click View|preferences from the menu.
Choose the Category ‘Appearance’ on the left.
Click the ‘Enable automoatic image resizing’ tickbox.
Click OK.
