by the telephone.
“Hillen, its the hilth munister here. Sorry to bother you at this hour but there is an emergency! I’ve just received word thet the Durex fectory en Auckland has burned to the ground. It is istimated thet the entire New Zulland supply of condoms will be gone by the ind of the week.”
“Shuuuuuut – the economy wull niver be able to cope with all those unwanted babies – we’ll be ruined!”
“We’re going to hef to shup some in from abroad… Britain?…”
“No chence!! The Poms will have a field day on thus one!”
“What about Australia?”
“Maybe – but we don’t want them to know thet we are stuck. You call John Howard – tell hum we need one moollion condoms; ten enches long and eight enches thuck! That way they’ll know how bug the Kiwis really are!!”
Helen calls John, who agrees to help the Kiwis out in their hour of need.
Three days later a van arrives in Auckland – full of boxes. A delighted Helen rushes out to open the boxes. She finds condoms; 10 inches long; 8 inches thick, all coloured green and gold.
She then notices in small writing on each and every one………

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2003well i think ill start fiddling around with the look and feel of this place, i wont have my own blog server until glayen is back up and even then im not sure whatll happen… besides i like it here 
so yeah im gonna start fiddling around with the look and feel of my blog, maybe get it do something that looks alright, i like the fact that i get so much more control over the code here than i ever did at freeopendiary.

Monday, June 2nd, 2003got the forums working (phpbb), and theyre configured and evberything, works perfectly… im having a bit of trouble with the blog stuff though, hopefully ill be able to work it out 
server testing

Monday, June 2nd, 2003ok, i managed to configure apache for php4, and the server itself works, plus mysql does run properly (though im not sure if apache sees it or not yet)…
will prolly use glayven for hosting, but its down at the moment (vary rare, we think someone must have pulled the plug physically on it or something… oh well)

Sunday, June 1st, 2003ok got apache, php4, and mysql installed on my machine, im using them to test the blogger software, and im checking it from my mac (so should all be cross compatible with all os’s)
heh stupid apache not letting me access it from the same computer its running on
I tried that client software though, and it didnt seem to like my java virtual machine (and i cant be fucked figuring it out, so ill find a few os specific ones instead… oh well)

Sunday, June 1st, 2003OK ive found some blogger software (the same one this site runs on if im not mistaken), ive found some server space for myself that supports all of it, and ive found plugins and cool features for the software… plus a client that works on all operating systems (for people who use it alot or hell everyone really… im looking at you julz)… welll thats about it, im going to instal all the stuff and configure it running on my own webserevr locallly, then uplaod it to the webspace.
ill grab a copy of vbbulletein or something similar while im at it and set that up aswell, once ive got them working, ill make them look good, ill make a webpage for them to connect to and ill upload it all… then it can be used… heh shouldnt take THAT long
