Southsiders

Friday, February 27th, 2004

Now – I’ve nothing against southsiders (being a northsider), heck – I even married one ! But when I got this from my sister this morning I felt I just had to share !

A Southside Dubliner parks his brand new Porsche in front of the office to show it off to his colleagues. As he’s getting out of the car, a truck comes speeding along too close to the kerb and takes off the door before speeding off.

More than a little distraught, the Southsider grabs his mobile and calls the guards. Five minutes later, the police arrive. Before the guard has a chance to ask any questions, the Southsider starts screaming hysterically:

“My Porsche, my beautiful silver Porsche is ruined. No matter how long at the panel beaters it’ll simply never be the same again!”

After the Southsider finally finishes his rant, the guard shakes his head in disgust:

“I can’t believe how materialistic you bloody Southsider’s are,” he says.
“You lot are so focused on your possessions that you don’t notice anything else in your life.”
“How can you say such a thing at a time like this?”, snaps the Southsider. The guard replies, “Didn’t you realise that your right arm was torn off when the truck hit you.”

The Southsider looks down in absolute horror………

“F?#KING HELL!!!!!!” he screams……..
“Where’s my Rolex ????…”

Oh this one’s a classic !

Fed-up designated driver loses licence deliberately

A Norwegian was so fed up with being his girlfriends designated driver that he lost his licence on purpose.

The 30-year-old spotted a police car in front of him and hit the accelerator, passing the officers at 85mph in an 50mph zone in Trondheim.

I can only imagine !

Agh … so much to do, and so little time to do it !
Sinéad just had a checkup … and the Doctor, while booking her in for her next one made the off-hand comment that he doesn’t expect to see her for it … that he expects bump to arrive early !
(This being our first, and the child not being due until the start of March, this took us by suprise somewhat – as we were kinda expecting the due-date to shift more in the late direction – towards mid-March)

Only time will tell, and when the child is ready out (s)he’ll come – whether or not we’re ready !

Citroen C5 - Navy
I’ve been off all week … and what a week …
We’ve been supposed to be getting the place ready for the arrival of ‘bump’ .. but well .. things have been getting out of hand.
First the car needed servicing this week … so brought it along to Teelings in Howth – my Citroen dealer. The NCT pre-test showed that it needed a small (but moderately expensive) amount of work before it would pass … and there she sat, a beautiful 01 C5 sitting on the forecourt. Fairly basic spec, and just the right pricerange. Unfortunately – the finance company I have the current car-loan with don’t agree, and want me to come up with nearly Eur 4000 to make the change. So … toddled off to my friendly BOI manager this morning, who didn’t blink when I asked for a loan of nearly Eur17000. All I have to do now is await the funds’ arrival in my account …
For those of you who don’t know, the C5 is the current top-end car from Citroen. It’s got the air-suspension that made Citroen famous, it’s also massive both inside and out.
