Bought a new telly last night …. a nice Philips 28″ one, recommended by Baud …
It goes really nicely with my nice Philips DVD/5.1 system (although Sinead isn’t convinced by the silvery casing and the sheer size of it in the room !)

Digital cameras are great – endless capicity, handy, you can delete those crap shots you really shouldn’t have taken …

They’re unfortunately also (like anything else stored on computer) open to wetware (user) errors. One of those was experienced last night, when a very tired wife of mine took a silly shot of myself and wibble putting up a shower-rail. She then decided to delete it – and accidentally hit the “FORMAT” option instead … which wouldn’t have been too bad, but the snaps from the honeymooon were on the card !

Needless to say she is a little upset about that ! So … if anyone knows of a way to unformat a SmartMedia card, formatted by a Fuji Finepix A201 camera, I’d be more than happy to hear it.

For anyone who’s interested a ‘dd if=/dev/smartmedia of=file’ only produces a file full of zeros …

Well – we got into wibble’s apartment in Bray last night … it’s nice, but we’ve still got loads of things to do.
We slept on the mattress last night, because we were too wrecked to actually build the bed … the set of screws supplied to put it together were about an inch too short to actually work … so I spent most of last night running around trying to find a drill-bit wide enough to countersink the heads.

We got back to the flat somewhere just after midnight, and got most of our belongings in. So far so good … went to wash teeth and go to sleep and *bleugh* hot water … some muppet has the bathroom tap plumbed backwards ! … which wouldn’t be too bad if it wasn’t one of those nice lift and twist ones …

Oh well … something else for the snag-list in Lusk !

Haven’t posted house news in a while ! … Estate agent forwarded us to the Site office yesterday, who told us they want to have us completed the snag-list by the 18-July … That’s the day they go on holidays for two weeks … so we’re figuring mid – late August for a move in date !

In other news: wired in the cooker & hob in wibble’s place last night … so the place is almost habitable now … not much to go now … carpets and flooring go down this week … then we’ll buy a bed at the weekend … all will be well !
