Peter has published another update to his monthly words of wisdom, which, as always, are well worth a read!
Pete’s words of wisdom
December 11th, 2005 by adminChristmas Number One?!
December 9th, 2005 by adminWell, I wrote about it over a month ago, and I’m now watching the JCB song being performed live on the Late Late Show, and, like myself, Pat Kenny reckons it could well be Christmas Number One! Given Rick O’Shea, Marty Whelan, Shane O’Donohue, Ronan Collins, John Creedon and even Jo Whiley also think so, I think I’m in good company!!
Say NO to puppy farms in Ireland!!!
December 5th, 2005 by adminKarlin has posted an entry about how Ireland now considered the puppy-farm capital of Europe. A lot of this is down to the fact that we have very poor regulation and as a result, it’s naturally being exploited by some people. Having worked in an Animal Rescue Centre, I know how despicable these puppy farms are, and how disgustingly some people treat animals. It really sickens me to see how cruel people can be toward relatively defenseless animals.
As Karlin suggests, go write a letter to Minister for the Environment Dick Roche, who may be able to change things. All the details of what to send and where to send it can be found here.
Amazing Photo Essay’s
December 1st, 2005 by adminI have just been pointed in the direction of Magnum In Motion, which is an amazing photo-journalism website. I really recommend that you check out their photo essay’s, they’re not necessarily the most pleasant photo essay’s you will ever see, they’re hard hitting and emotional, but, they really are very, very good.
And it’s back
December 1st, 2005 by adminFour weeks later, I’ve finally just got my camera back! Now, let’s hope that everything is back to normal on it too!
Off to Monaco (again!)
December 1st, 2005 by adminI know, it’s only a few months since I’ve been, but, I have just booked another trip back to Monaco and the Cote d’Azur for this coming May.
This time, I’m away with Morgan, Ciaran and Andrew (that’s the list so far!!) for a week at the end of May to take in the Grand Prix, and have a couple of days chilling out as well. I’ve worked an unbelievable deal for us (booking early has been a real bonus) which has seen us getting flights for EUR 100, hotel for EUR 35 per night, and with Grand Prix tickets thrown into the bargain, we should have the entire trip for circa EUR 500. Of course, food and drink will more than double the total cost I’ve no doubt, but, it’s still an amazing price for a week in the south of France on Grand Prix (and Cannes Palm d’Or) week!!
Now, to figure out a way to make the next few months go faster…., maybe I’ll just sit here and flick through the pics from this year to keep me going
Google Talk Blog
December 1st, 2005 by adminThe nice people over at Google have now just launched a blog to talk about Google Talk, their new communication suite which is in development. Looking forward to getting an insight into their plans for this tool, given it has been one of their most hyped apps in a long time.

Another sporting legend is lost
November 27th, 2005 by adminI haven’t posted about the recent death of George Best on here. I understand and appreciate the sense of loss that so many people are feeling right now, he truly was a legend and a wholly engaging character. Plenty has, and will continue to be written about the genius that was for many years to come.
However, in all the George Best news that has rightfully been filling all the various media forms over the past few days, the fact that 2001 World Rally Champion, Richard Burns has lost a long battle against a brain tumour, has gone relatively un-mentioned. There is a statement on his website detailing the struggle he has had for the past two years since passing out on his way to the Welsh Rally in November 2003.
He will doubtless be sorely missed by the World Rally Championship and all its fans, of which I am one, and which has already had a tragic year.
