Cool, I’ve just realised that Rick O Shea, presenter of the new Breakfast Show (still reserving judgement on that!) on 2FM has gone and set up his own blog. Another to add to the list methinks, must keep an eye on it over the coming weeks, see how’s he’s coping with trying to fill Mr. Tubridy’s boots (that’s just never gonna happen!)

Wednesday, March 30th, 2005Push your Portfolio
Tuesday, March 29th, 2005I recently half-read this article by Martin Taylor about how to increase your Google ranking for your photo portfolio site. Going to give it a proper read shortly as I prepare to get my portfolio together
Back to skool sleep
Tuesday, March 29th, 2005I had one of those awful back to skool sleeps last night. You know, those where, you have a nice long weekend off as we did, get loads of sleep. feel great and refreshed heading to bed the night before you head back to work and are looking forward to being wide and awake for the week, and then…BAM, you can’t get to sleep, then when you do you keep waking up, and your awake an hour before the alarm goes off in the morning, resulting in you being as shattered as you were before the weekend came along, and leaving you wishing that rather than being sensible and staying in all weekend because you knew you were shattered, you went out and had a great time and went a bit wild!
Another one coming?
Monday, March 28th, 2005I’ve just seen on the news that there has been another massive earthquake about 200 miles off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia, not far from where the earthquake was on December 26th which caused the massive Tsunami in the area. So far, there have been numerous Tsunami warnings, but, as of yet, no word of a wave in progress. Given this has happened only 2 hours ago (and it’s the middle of the night there) this could make some very interesting viewing over the next few hours
Ain’t she skinny
Monday, March 28th, 2005Just found (courtesy of Caoimhe) some altogether frightening pictures of Mischa Barton from The OC sunbathing topless (well, ok, not quite, she lost the straps on her Bikini) but my my, ain’t she like a rasher!!
It’s been a bit
Monday, March 28th, 2005What a long and lazy long weekend it has been! I have done very little, other than eat, sleep and drink the whole weekend, and, to be honest, have not been in the mood for much else. I went out with a lot of very good friends and colleagues on Thursday night to say farewell to a true gent of a colleague who has now left us for much bigger and better things.
After a lazy afternoon on Friday, some very good friends and family came over Friday evening for some food and drinks, and a good (and long) night was had by all.
Aside from that, nothing else of note happened the whole weekend, lots of sitting around on the sofa and taking it nice and easy was the order du jour and I have taken it with glee.
Back to the grind tomorrow, but, I can live with that and will survive!

Dublin getting more expensive
Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005I see that Dublin has climber yet further up the ranks in the Global Cost of Living scale, now ranked as the 21st most expensive city, up from 25th in a similar survey a year ago. The shocking thing about this is that New York is now ranked as less expensive than Dublin (23rd)!!
For those interested, Tokyo was identified as the most expensive city in the world, followed by Osaka Kobe, Oslo, Paris, Copenhagen and Zurich.
Water shortages…already?!
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005Some of the water companies throughout the UK are already warning that there could be severe water shortages, hosepipe bans etc over the coming months, after an exceptionally dry winter. I know I complained yesterday about the rain being back, but, yet again it has disappeared, despite the forecasters predicting otherwise for the week. Not that I’m complaining, it’s lovely and mild, and being able to wander around town in a t-shirt at lunch time is a always nice!
Prince Rainier in ICU
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005I’ve just been reading that Prince Rainier of Monaco has just been moved to an Intensive Care Unit in a bid to alleviate the pulmonary infection which he is currently suffering. Unfortunately, for a man of his age (81) this is a pretty serious and sinister development. It would be a shame to see him pass away, he is a man I have always admired through the years.
