The Northern Lights are visible over Ireland tonight, and well worth a look if you are in a nice dark, clear (most of the country tonight) spot, as it’s not something we get to see very often, and they’re a treat!

What is it with companies having their Christmas Party on a work night?! We had ours on a Thursday last year, and very few people struggled in on the Friday (I did!), meaning that no work was done, but we were all under-resourced to function correctly. The complaint was that it was just a silly day to have the party…and yet what’s happened this year, they’ve gone and done it again!!

Those of you who know me will know that for quite a while I’ve been on a rant about how bloody expensive this country is! Everyone who lives here has a similar tale to tell mind, and I’ve just had a very interesting conversation with one of the lads here in work. He was talking about when he was a student, he couldn’t afford to go out and get pissed, so he used to bring a naggin of vodka out to the pub with him and top up the drink he bought, now he works full time, in a well paid job, and still needs go bring a naggin into the pub with him as he can’t afford to drink in this country! Ain’t it great!

Ah, at last, day 19 on the trot in work is nearly over, the ice cream has been eaten and in 45 minutes I’m legging it out the door to try and beat the traffic home, grab a change of clothes and sit out at the gate for Cella to pick me up and head for the plane to Glasgow. I reckon one beer tonight and I’ll be flat on my back, been up since 6:30 this morning, but I don’t really care any-more, I’ll have plenty of people to look after me!
