In other news I scored a “scintillating” try during a rugby tournament at the weekend. We’re being a little generous with our superlatives I think, but it wasn’t a particularly bad try. I was on the wing and we had an overlap from the back of a ruck (I think, can’t quite remember). The ball came out quickly and went straight down the line. I got the ball just outside the 22 about 5 metres from touch. I ran through one tackle and got the ball down as I was being tackled just over the try line. I should’ve dived But it’s not a bad outing for my first game for the first team (I normally play seconds). The trials for the first team are on Saturday and I hope to do myself justice and at the least secure a place on the second team, I’ll be disappointed with less.
